Puck Agility Skating Clinics
Puck possession with agility movement training to advance skating and stick handling skills. Integrating power pumps and biscuit cradling are some of the essentials for explosive opponent separation. Players are shown weight transfer and transition skating drills using specific forward / backward edging and cross-over techniques for acceleration and lateral movement while controlling the puck.
Body & Puck Protection Clinics
A valuable skill that is necessary to ensure puck possession along the boards and open ice, which is something that schools seldom work on. Players are shown battling techniques and evasive tactics using the body to create space and time. Point of contact teaching tools include: hip rotation & leg loading / bracing & leveraging maneuvers / shoulder leaning & arm extensions.
Power / Performance Skating Clinics
We teach essential forward and backward skating techniques for all levels. Every player's make-up is unique. The foundation of skating starts with stride efficiency and understanding your bio-mechanics for balance and weight transfer. Understanding form and function is the key to advancement.
Shooting Clinics
Players have different needs when working on their shot. Sessions focus on combining quick hands and hard shot while addressing accuracy. Players are shown various release points when taking wrist / snap / backhand shots from in tight and far away. Advanced players are also taught shoot in stride, slap shots and lob shots.
Defensive Tactics Clinics
Defensive drills that focus on c-cuts, crossovers, pivots, angling and poke / sweep checking. Defense training techniques include: zone positioning & hinging / gap control & pinching / backward puck possession & regroup passing / playing the boards & protecting the house / reading outlet options.
Pre-Tryout Clinics
A series of training protocols that prepare you to show your best! Sessions promote tryout readiness and a self driven approach for players to realize their potential. All skill sets are addressed with progressive drills that maximize the player's development. Racing and battling drills are major components to the format.
Goaltending Clinics
Develop specific movements, agility and fundamental skills while building net minding confidence. Goalie training techniques include: circuit skating & stance balancing / lateral slides & power pushes / angling & crease protection / puck tracking & rebound control / glove & blocker placement.
